What has improved on the 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge?

Volvo made a major announcement back in April concerning its midsize luxury plug-in hybrid SUV, the 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge. Volvo announced that the XC90 Recharge would now offer a larger 18.8-kWh battery that delivers double the all-electric range of the current model. This isn't the only thing that is new, however, on the XC90 Recharge. We thought we would take a look at some of the improvements Volvo has made to its flagship three-row luxury PHEV SUV.

It now has 58 km of range

The 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge now offers 58 km of range. This is a significant improvement over the 29 km of the previous model. The XC90 Recharge now offers enough range for most owners to get through their daily commute without needing a single drop of fuel. If you drive less than 50 km every single day, you should be able to get through the day without using the gas engine at all.

If you charge in the evening, you should be able to do your whole week without any gas. This may not have been possible with the previous XC90 Recharge.

It has quite a bit more power

The 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge gets a much more powerful rear electric motor which jumps from 87 hp to 147. This translates into a total output of 455 hp compared to 400 hp on the previous model. The XC90 Recharge is now the most powerful Volvo vehicle ever built.

It has more technology

The 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge will be getting more technology very soon. We expect to see the XC90 Recharge get features such as one-pedal driving which allows the user to control accelerations and braking using only one-pedal. These are just some of the improvements made to the 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge.
