Volvo EX90 SUV: Redefining Luxury with Sustainable Sensory Experiences

The Volvo EX90, a fully electric SUV, is making headlines with its unique approach to interior design, emphasizing sustainability and sensory experiences. The company's design team, led by Lisa Reeves, has incorporated materials from natural, recycled, and renewable sources, embodying both the company's Scandinavian roots and environmental ethos.

The premium interior showcases the Nordico upholstery, developed from textiles sourced from recycled materials like PET bottles and bio-attributed polymer harvested from Swedish and Finnish forests. Reeves proudly remarked on the team’s effort in designing the detailed texture of the Nordico material, resulting in a tactile, premium-quality surface.

The SUV further manifests its commitment to sustainability with the Nativa-certified wool blend seat finishing and FSC-certified wood panels adorning the cabin, alongside carpets made from regenerated polyamide. With nearly 50 kg of recycled plastics and bio-based materials, the EX90 leads Volvo's lineup in the use of non-primary fossil-based materials.

The EX90 offers customers a personalized touch, allowing selection from seven different "rooms," each depicting a unique mood inspired by the Scandinavian lifestyle. With SunLike LEDs lighting the cabin, the wood deco and progressive materials stand out more vividly, bringing a whole new level of authenticity to the auto industry.

Ever since its establishment in 1927, Volvo has garnered global recognition and respect, selling to customers in more than 100 countries. With an ambition to become fully electric by 2030 and achieve climate neutrality by 2040, Volvo's latest offering, the EX90, exemplifies the company's commitment to sustainable mobility.
